Last straw, MAYBE 5TH PUMP

Three weeks ago I had my 4th pump replaced, with the new 933 pump, and today on my way home from work, the service engine soon light came on and the car lost power and drove rough. After about 10 minutes the light went out and the car regained power but does not feel right. Also the DVD read error came back and then the break squeal reared it's ugly sound. Seriously all 3 problems within a 20 mile commute home....

I'VE HAD IT!!!!!

I am pretty definite about leaving BMW now, I can't take anymore. BMW cars are just not reliable. They drive fantastic but I cannot count on them!!!!!!! The incredible amount of time I've spent at the dealer, mostly by taking vacation days, is absolutely ridiculous.

TO DATE PROBLEMS:
• 4 HPFP's REPLACED, maybe 5th on the way
• 1-LPFP REPLACED
• 6 Fuel injectors REPLACED
• Seat belt hand off butler REPLACED
• 2-cup holders REPLACED
• Sway bar bushings REPLACED via SIB
• Sticky brake syndrome, fixed TWICE
• Rear Brake sensors REPLACED TWICE due to squeaking. NOISE IS BACK AGAIN
• Driver seat assy REPLACED
• DVD navigation unit REPLACED TWICE, NOW BROKEN AGAIN
• Passenger brake light bulb REPLACED (TWICE)
• Passenger xenon headlight REPLACED
• Passenger DLR bulb REPLACED
• Noisy Exhaust valve flap. Dealer attempted to fix 3 times now, STILL NOISY, SEE VIDEO
• Drivers Lumbar switch REPLACED

Lemon/Buyback?? That is definitely a car that should not have made it past quality control.

I'd get in touch with BMWNA and see what they can do, because that's pretty unacceptable

Dude, I feel your pain. I purchased a 2010 e92 335i xDrive Coupe and have had the Check Engine Soon light come on more times than I can count. The sad truth is my step-daughter owns a 2009 Ford Focus and has never had one warranty issue with her car. I spent 3 times the amount and my car is as reliable as a flying broom stick! Why does BMW turn out garbage engines that can't run from A to B w/o engine trouble. I really am disappointed with their quality control lately with this whole HPFP issue. What do we all do about this global issue with our N54's?

Lol, buy a Chevy built in Mexico or Canada, or a BMW built in South Africa or South Carolina, or a Toyota built in Mississippi

There are no country specific brands anymore, just brands

Not saying the Mustang is a bad car, I like it a lot. But if he's having reliability problems, "initial" quality isn't really what he's looking for...

One of my friends has been thru 8 fuel pumps. He isn't complaining, full bolt on mods + upgraded turbos keeps a smile on his face.

Good thing in CA... 30 days in the shop and it's lemon time. Sometimes the dealerships don't even go through BMWNA lawyers and just buy it back. Good stuff!

I am calling BMWNA first thing Monday to see what they can do for me. I don't want an extended warranty, for that doesn't stop the car from having problems. I want a reliable car and I want to see the dealer for oil changes only

That really sucks. BMW's are a great drive, but if that happened to me, I would leave the brand and never look back. Embarrassing for a car maker to charge 50 grand for some failing that much.

I hope you find a car that delivers the performance and at least a little reliability you need. I understand; being in the shop kinda sucks. Plenty of fish out there.....enjoy the choices.
