Precision Raceworks DTM Headlight kit review
So just finished doing my DTM headlight kit from precision raceworks and wanted to write a quick review on my experience.
Ill preface by saying I really liked the way the DTM headlights I’d seen so far looked but didn’t want to pay the high price tag to have it done. I have never done any modifications to headlights on this or any of my previous cars so something with an extensive instruction manual was a must. That’s how I came across this set. Price for these were $250 (though I think they are doing a black Friday deal) which was considerably less than the $600 or so to have them done by someone. After looking over the instructions on their website (precisionraceworks.com) it looked easy enough for me to complete. The whole project lasted about 2 days as I took long breaks when the painted pieces were drying. The kit consists of 4 rings (2 big 2 small) wiring harness that fits factory connection, carbon fiber eye lids, and butyl adhesive for resealing the lens. To go with it I bought flat black spray paint, fine grit sand paper, and a small level. All these are optional and were purchases because of how I wanted my headlights to look. The process was simple. The steps that took me the longest were, waiting for the paint to dry, and leveling the rings to each other. Most people will just eyeball the rings, drill the holes in the old halos, and move one. I was a little more anal retentive so I involved a small level which probably did more harm than good. All in all I am very happy the way these came out, the kit as simple and easy to install, and I saved a bunch of money doing it myself. Have a look and let me know what you think! |

E92 headlights are easy to open up (not the case with E90). Forgot the exact temperature and time, but a few minutes in the oven and they pry right off.

Wow these came out great. Do you have any close ups? I would really like to add these to my headlights. Only thing I don't like is the carbon eyelid, I'd like something a little more OEM looking.

I think I'm just gonna buy the kit. My car won't be ready until mid January so I have time. I'm just one of those people who wants it perfect or prefers to do nothing. I'm really handy. I may give this a whirl. Would love to see closer pics of your installed kit. Looks to be very nice.

Any pictures of the parts you painted? I have the same kit and gonna install this week. I want it to look like yours. Satin paint with the white rings.
