Wanting an Android Auto HU for an E93 CCC

Hey everyone,

Got an 2009 328i E93 with a ccc system, afaik I have the base audio (no speakers where the mirrors are). I've read a bunch, but between bad audio through aux, mixed experiences with audio systems etc, I have no idea what a good buy would be.

I want proper audio going, and with it being a convertible, I want it to be able to go loud enough to hear it while driving down the highway.
I want Android Auto. And I want all functionality to remain.

For argument sake let's say money is not an issue, but if there is a good 'budget' friendly option, please let me know.

If you want open air sound that doesn't suck you are looking a 1500 on a
DSP/AMP and quality speakers alone.

Ihttps://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/BMW_iDrive

There are piggyback units for the Android stuff most of them go through the Aux though.
Mr12volt makes some add ons that don't though.

Put Base in the search box. For base system threads. (for audio)

Mosconi/Gladen and Fisher Audio tech Helix and Match makes good DSP/Amps with compatible speakers also.

You need over 50 watts a channel and compatible speakers (70 to 100 watts would be better)
6 channel AMP/DSP at least. Subwoofer and subwoofer amp if you are one of those guys.

I'm definitely looking to upgrade the audio at some point, and that's gonna be a whole search in itself.

For now I want to focus on getting the right headunit for the best quality sound with my current speakers, while also having a modern HU.

I looked around and saw 3 names popup, Dynavin, Xtrons and Eonon. I've checked Aliexpress and saw Xonrich being very popular and highly rated, but can't find any info on it. I've seen people mention Junsun, which I had in my Peugeot, but that is meaningless unless I know which models for this car works well.

You are not going to get much sound improvement from a Head Unit,
if any. And you sure aren't going to get any open air ability.
Aftermarket Head Units when you already have idrive is a can of worms.

I'm not looking to get sound improvement, but I want one that won't make it worse.

I know head units are tricky, hence I posted this here because I want to future proof my system. Are there maybe things I can connect to my current radio to get android auto going?

I would go for a Mr12v
Installed one along with backup camera this weekend in my 07 E92.
Very impressed.
Sound quality over Aux jack is night and day.

Can you clarify that as the purpose of buying a mr12volt is to avoid the
BMW aux. And it has both usb, sd , bluetooth streaming and phone as well
as and additional aux.

Also there is the simple box and the new android apple play box which are
quite different.

Yes. Mr12V doesn't rely on Aux input. It uses the fiber optic loop and hijacks the cd changer input.
I was saying the sound improvement of the Aux jack in the console, what I previously used, is very noticeable.
