N53 Intake Boot Silencer Delete

Forgive me if this is the wrong section,

But has anybody done a intake silencer boot delete on the N53? Any negatives to this?

The silicone pipes are available for the N52, would this also fit the N53? The length and dia.

The part number for the 52 and 53 are different on realoem

Yes, I have the blue mishimoto intake boot. It was simple to do, and very worth it

Yes I've done it (on an N53). Can't honestly say I noticed any difference in noise or performance...

Thanks, I've read conflicting opinions on the 1series forum too but my OEM has a split somehow, hence thought to do the delete instead of getting OEM.

I'm aware of the mishimoto but has anybody used any of these flexi silicone tubes? Says it doesn't collapse under pressure etc.

If these do work, it would just be a matter of measuring the diameter etc.

Two things:

1) Those on your eBay link aren't big enough (in diameter)
2) It's ages since I fitted mine, but I'm pretty sure the throttle body end is a larger diameter than the MAF end. And it also helps to have a hose with the 'bend' built in. A bit like this one (though unavailable): https://www.amazon.co.uk/Custom-Sili.../dp/B06Y1TTW4Y

Just my five penn'orth...

Makes more sense, I thought it's the same size from maf to throttle body. Mishimoto appears to be the only option in market! Cheers anyway

rev motoring listing that says it's available.
I think you can get it direct from rev motoring on ebay for less, that's where I got mine.

Cheers! Mishimoto dropped their price for a moment on eBay now it's back up, will have to find and get this instead.
