H&R Sport Springs on Bilstein Shocks?

I am currently running H&R Sports on my E90x on stock shocks. Now, I am thinking about going with Bilstein Shocks. Now, is anyone currently running this setup? Also, what are the differences between the standard Bilstein and HD version?

Thanks,
JP

Only Bilstein shocks that fit the xDrive are Bilstein sport shocks so it doesn't matter what the difference is. Try searching, there are a couple of people running this set-up.

Right there is a Sport Shock and an HD Shock. I can't seem to tell the difference.

The bilstein HD is a factory height shock while the bilstein sport is a lowered version for use with the H&R sport springs.

I have just put this set up on mine! Love it! It handles like nothing i have ever driven before. I do need to put some wheel spacers on it now however? If anyone knows the size that looks the best, i would love to know.

I'm currently running Bilstein shocks with H&R sports and I can say that, imo, it's the perfect balance between comfort and performance.

Thanks! That is what I am going to be doing as of this weekend!!

I am running H&R sport springs now but it just too much over the road. Do you say the car ride smoother or harder? What suspension setup did you have prior?

Stock struts have bump stops right? But because if someone used bilstein sports with hnr springs you would need smaller bumpstops? Correct?

No Bilstein sport front struts are a monotube desing and have the bump stops built in and the rear shcoks come with their own new bumpstops if I am not mistaken.

That's good to know, I always thought you had to get the m3 bumpstops.
Thanks again

H&R Springs on Bilstein shocks will look the same as H&R Springs on stock shocks...Bilstein shocks by themselves don't alter ride height

^^^ I'm sorry, but I meant HnR sports with bilstein sports not the hd's.
Don't the sport bilsteins lower the ride height.

So massbimmer, what would be a good strut combo to go along with the eibach I strut on an xi e90? Have any idea, i wasn't sure if the bilstein sports were the way to go on these.

No, generally shocks do not alter ride height, springs do. Some shocks are adjustable, but the Bilsteins are not.

You're only option for sport shocks on the xi are the Bilstein Sports. No other company makes shocks/struts that fit the xi.

Thanks guys. I think I'm also gonna do the lowering perch, along with struts and springs, just to bring the front down more.
