2011 335i E92 N55 TMAP Swap

Hey folks I was wondering if it is possible to swap TMAP sensors on a 2011 E92 N55 from an "A" style to the "B" style.

I am asking because I have been on the search for a used JB4 G2 for the car and having a difficult time finding one with an "A" harness, it seems the "B" is more available on the second hand market. I thought it might just be easier to swap the TMAP sensor to the "B" style. Can this be done?

Thanks in advance for your help

Cheers

The connector end from the car wiring would also require it to be Type B. So even if you have a B sensor, and a B jb4, u may need to cut off your OEM A connector and reconnect a B connector on it to be able to go into the jb4 wiring for the B type.

Hope that makes sense, instead of chopping any of the cars original wiring, I would just find the appropriate JB4 you need.

On that note: I *think* Burger sells a A to B adapter for the wiring end, and if they do, then you can buy that and a B sensor and B jb4. At which point you may as well have bought it new?

It's not just the TMAP sensor that needs replacement. I bought an A harness and B harness to compare and contrast. They call out the TMAP harness because it is the easiest to spot when identifying what harness you need to order. There is another sensor that requires replacement.

I have a Type A harness available, preferably for trade with a Type B.

Dont cut anything as there are multiple connections. Get the correct harness.

Or modify your connector like I did..... All you need is a Dremel... grind away a few tabs, and inside guides on the harness, and you're done. Took 8.3 minutes.

When u cut out the guides on the inside of the harness, does that let you flip the orientation of the plug so the wires match up properly? I have a 2013 335i with pwg and bought an A harness instead of the B harness I need. If it's just a dremel cut and removing the inner notch/tab I wouldn't mind giving it a shot.
