to replace inner part, you have to take the door panel off, remove tabs using soldering iron and install new and weld plastic tbs to secure it.

Replacement handles come with screws. No need to melt anything.

You drill out the old plastic rivets and screw in the new handle. It's cake. And sure beats a leather cover.

Where did you buy one that came with screws? All the ones I am seeing require melting.

An alternative to melting the post down, use nuts to thread down on the posts. I done this last year to mine and it worked out great.

I picked up a carbon fiber look wrap for the right passenger handle. I will post pictures once I install it. It was 14 dollars on ebay so I figure, why not give it a try.

Would love to see a pic, before and after install, if you could be so kind.

Just did this yesterday. Bought a replacement handle off of Amazon. Cheap and relatively easy fix. As mentioned, it came with screws and washers instead of the plastic melt riveting.

nay!

text or call me when you can, i litterally fixed this issue on my car last week by buying the inner door handle on amazon for about $20. It came with replacement screws for the new handle.

After removing the door card, i used a flexible thin hand saw that came in my costco tools kit to cut off half of the plastic that secures the inner handle, then used pliers to grasp the remaining part and twist 90° and the entire inside that held the handle poped off (do this for all 4 secure points to the handle and your done).

If you want to save $20, you can probable sand down the old handle and still keep using it?

new handle has 4 screws instead of the oem melted plastic securing it. Now i get no more complaints from the wife (car complaints more specifically)... tho she still prefers driving in either of the other two new cars.

I also got a BT 5.0 tx/rx device to stream audio from my phone to the e90 aux port for about $20-ish and now can stream all audio but i think i should have waited for amazon auto instead.
