I've read that review, and various other studies on various turbocharged vehicles. While I think the effects are less prounounced on this engine, I think they are consistent.

I'm not "bashing" anything. Just making comments from the data I've seen over hte past 10 years of tuning FI vehicles.

Relative to the testing link, which I've read:

All three tests show, as I said, that there is negligable difference (single digit degrees or less) between the two intakes. That means volunteering a longer run of intake, adding a "Y", and multiple extra bends for no discernable benefit in intake temperatures.

That means your turbo just works a lot harder for only a few degrees of benefit. I've never seen Dyno comparison, and I'm not sure that's the best comparison either, but similar to the above IAT logging, I suspect the results land squarely within the margin of error.

I'd like to see the W/G duty cycles. I've never seen those, and the search came up blank for me. Bottom line, if you're expecting noticable, measureable gains from a CAI, I think you're fooling yourself. If you like the sound, that's another story. Replace your BPV too.

After install V401 Stage 2+ ST Aggressive, I hear a strange noise whenever my car is turned on. Kinda sounds like you have a laptop inside your gloves box and the CPU/Video card fan is running hard.

Has anyone else experience this issue?

No, I mean the cooling fan in the engine bay (mounted behind the radiator)

hmm I haven't checked that, but before I had V301 I never heard it before. I've ran V301 for months now, and never noticed it. Surely the cooling fan must have been on during the time I was on V301.

I have been running v301 (stage 1 sport) for the last 2weeks. I was kind of waiting for the new maps to come out of beta but have the itch. I am wondering if there is a big difference in performance between v301 stage 1 sport map vs the v401 stage 1+ sport?

Could be completely unrelated to the tune. How hot is it outside?? Possible that the car is just trying to cool itself down since it's sitting still & there's no passive airflow.

I must say you hit the nail on that comment, it was record high in temp today in Toronto. I will see if I hear the same thing when the weather is colder.. Or i can put in V301 while its hot and see if its the same result.

IDK if there's a HUGE difference , but give em a try they work great for me. I've been running the beta maps since they were released and I have had 0 issues.

Do you have iDrive/DVD navigation? I hear the noise you're describing coming from the DVD drive occasionally. Its probably the same thing you're hearing, you just didn't pay attention to it until now.

Yea that is exactly the type of sound it is, however I do not have IDrive nor a CD inside the player.

From all the information i read, i just want a opinion

After moving to Stage 2+ Aggressive V401, and going a couple rounds of WOT, my car idles strange, it fluctuate between 600-800 RPM, Also the exhaust note changed, sounded more throathy but studdering. (These issues weren't present on V301 Stg 1)

Is there some parts I need to replace? Spark plugs etc?

I searched for ECU Reset and found this statement

"ECU can only be reset by one of three tools - BMW GT1 diagnostic machine at a BMW dealer, Autologic machine typically at an independent service centre, or the Bavarian Technic tool (which I think only one or two of us have in the UK)."

Is that correct?

On the menu of the Cobb unit Go to diagnostics menu and select Reset ECU or whatever phrase they use.
