I didn't get to view the pictures\listing in full. But, was that an Alpine White over Saddle Brown sport interior, RWD, and 6MT…for $6500?! That guy would be kicking himself if he knew the prices those are going for currently. Anyone know how many miles it has/had?

It was a 200k+ crusty Mass car. Well sold, and well bought IMO if you're into that kind of gems.

Didn't the ad also say something about a "clunk, not to worry about?"

With 200k in salt-town you might be looking at replacing every mount and bushing for more than the cost of the car at that point. Looked like it had rust building up in the fender too.

Was a nice spec though for the price and did seem pretty good condition overall.

I'm the seller of the Boston car, and I appreciate the feedback. I think the price was fair - realizing the car was a bit of a "unicorn" and in high demand. The car is definitely not "crusty" - yes northeast, but I took care of it as best as I can. It has two small dents (parking lot ding-a-lings), and the usual stone chips from interstate travel. The interior is in great shape. (Definitely no sagging headliners and the like!!) It has 200k miles on the original clutch. If the new owner keeps driving it like I did, it will last a while. But, it's got 200k on a wear item. The front end does "clunk" over big bumps - but my (respectable) mechanic told me not to worry about it. (Generally speaking, mechanics like to do work on cars... his conclusion was odd to me, but I respected it.) If I were to keep the car for the next 100k miles, I would just replace the various bushings. But that was not my plan.

I was as forthright as I could with the buyer, and I wish them many happy miles of motoring. Having said that, I have never sold a car that quickly... six hours from Craigslist to cash. Wow. (I might have left some money on the table... but I'm happy, and I hope the buyer is as well.)

With a heavy heavy heart, I'm considering selling my 2007 E91 MT.
https://bringatrailer.com/listing/2007-bmw-328-40/

The main reasons being that I haven't been giving as much attention as I'd like to (I have 3 vehicles (was actually 4 until very recently, lol) to maintain and am only getting busier). I'm also preparing for the possibility that I may downsize from my current house and I can't bear to own her without a garage.

I'm still really torn but just wanted to get the conversation going instead of waiting until the last minute if/when I do move.

Ahhh I remember that now! Timeline makes sense. Was that a CA auction?

Still not bad price, I don't think the title gets branded.

I have a carfax for this car and it shows damage on both sides of the car, as if it were t-boned on both sides. The owner states that the carfax is incorrect but can't prove it.

To add, the headliner is compromised and she may not have the best paintwork. No cargo cover either.

Something is weird about the car. I received many detailed photos and something is wrong with the front end. Between the hood fitment and passenger side inner fender paint is ground down something is not right about the car even though the carfax shows no accidents.

Worth a flyer but not anywhere near that price...

Nice spec'ed car though, what a shame.

pre-LCI w sport package and xenons. I actually made an offer on this car last year when the PO listed it. Fair warning: It's been in an accident and also had an exhaust leak repaired from a rusted flange (Michigan car).

That thing was super nasty underneath; I would never want to own it, try to work on it, etc.

If someone missed out on that one and wants to buy an automatic xDrive but with M-Sport package and an extra 100k miles…just let me know. I figure since that one sold for $25k, I can let mine go for $20k…

That's a tasty wagon you have. I'd have bought yours over mine if it wasn't for the gearbox. Although, Jeremi in the Detroit area does some fantastic gearbox swaps for digestible money.
