FS: H&R Street Performance Coilover Rear Shocks - Like New

BIMMERPOST / Classifieds
Asking Price:
Sold

Item Interest
Selling a gently used pair of rear H&R shocks. These came out of the H&R street performance coilover kit. Only installed for a few months. Fits both RWD and AWD cars.

These are shorter than Bilstein B8 rear dampeners and allow you go pretty low in the rear with minimal droop. Uses your stock bump stops.

H&R Shocks

Any idea who makes the H&R shocks? How would you rank them in dampening to the Bilstein B8 or Koni Yellow? I am looking to replace the ST-X rear shocks which provided great ride paired with their springs, but are now leaking.

Thanks,
Peter

H&R uses bilstein parts but different valving. B8 is a digressive valving where h&R are linear valving and softer ride but have more rebound dampening at higher shock velocities. H&R are more similar to the ST dampeners which are also a linear valving. I've had all 3 and also had all 3 dynoed on a shock dyno to understand their dampening curves and dampening forces. H&R and ST use very similar spring rates so these would pair well with your rear springs. B8 uses a 46mm piston where h&R uses a 36mm piston on rear shocks. Both are larger pistons than you will find in a ST or Koni shock since Bilstein and H&R are monotube and ST and Koni are twin tube.

I also have a set of rear B6 for sale that are like new. I also have a set of rear B8 that I can sell, but they have been revalved to have more compression and less rebound.
