Mr12volt vs MMI Prime?

Want to add CarPlay to my cic e91, and can’t decide between mr12volt or mmi prime. Has anyone had experience with both and can recommend one or the other?

How is the sound quality? I’ve been using the factory Bluetooth and the quality of that is fine for me.

Originally the system uses the stock AUX to transmit audio and it wasn't that great. But that's more on the BMW AUX than the module I think because I tested with my phone alone and the quality of AUX VS Bluetooth in my car, the BT was so much better to me, like it's more punchy.

But yeah the RoadTop one, I contacted my seller and they had an update that allows you to transmit audio over the stock Bluetooth so that worked out perfectly. You just connect your phone directly to the BMW Bluetooth.

That's a great thing.
My CarPlay recently stopped working after ios 17 update and I'm using factory BT, also noticed that sound is way better than it was on CarPay through AUX.

Did you have any problems with CarPlay after updating to ios 17?

I am new here but have ready so many posts supporting MMI carplay installations.
I have a 2009 LCI e90 with the CIC.
I ended up procuring the Andream MMI unit. After much headaches and hurdles, (along with little to no feedback from the rep Junly) I ended up with the following.
I have an Iphone with ISO 17 ++ update.
My phone would not stay connected to the MMI unit over Bluetooth.
Iphone will allow you to connect to 2 blue tooth devices at once.
I have my phone connected to the MMI over wifi, connected to the cars Bluetooth for phone and car mic, connected to Tunai dongle over Bluetooth to the aux port in the console. I the aux cable from the MMI unit i disconnected. Everything works correctly with this set up. Honestly from what i ready about the aux cable from mmi giving poor audio this Tunai Firefly provides decent audio.

Just sharing my experience and solution.
