Still on JB3 1.22

Is it worth it to upgrade?

I've been running 1.22 since it came out and its been great.

yes it is worth it. either call or email terry and tell him you want to upgrade you send it in and he will help you out for a small upgrade fee. The main difference is the extra connector at the other end of the box and an additional circuit for the new maps. think about doing it because you will end up wanting the 2.0 version when it comes out. I was at Terry's today and saw it in action on the computer test bench and it is really cool. You get a lot of adjustable features that will make it an even better tuner then it already is.

interesting.. my buddy was saying he could just upgrade me with his chip burner.. i'm just being lazy really... i don't see a point unless there's performance gains.. but i'll definitely look into it i guess

well I do not think your board has the two little blue circuits next to the chip it only has one and I was told you need that in order to run the newer maps and also you need the extra serial plug end in order to run the tuning gauge or to be able to run the new 2.0 coming out. the performance gains may not be easy to feel but at the track i know the newer maps have been turning faster times.

this is from terry

Around when we were finalizing 1.3 we added an additional component to the board, the blue 10uf capacitor shown. We found around 5% of cars out there needed this capacitor to run the stronger 1.3 lagfix maps. The G1 board with the extra capacitor is the G2 board.

Well faster times is more than enough reason then. Thanks for the input!

yes it is a good reason. the violence of the initial accel may not always mean a faster car. the top end may not be there like you think and the newer maps are more tailored for that like map 5 and 7 that carry more boost in the top end, as well as the lagfix

Definitely upgrade.

If you have access to a chip burner you can download the latest maps for free Do a search on here an you will see when this question is raised a lot of people are in love with the new 1.4 software package. Its a big jump from 1.3 and a huge jump from 1.22. Terry has done an amazing job.

If you find you need the upgraded board shoot me a PM and we can get that arranged for you.

Mike
