NEW: Schmiedmann Signature turbo kit for 335D M57T2 engines

Introducing: The Schmiedmann signature stage 1 exchange turbo kit for M57T2 twin turbo engines

Now, you can give your BMW 335D (or any other BMW with M57T2 engine) a powerful bolt-on performance upgrade.

Schmiedmann has already built bolt-on turbo upgrades for N54, N63, N55, S55 and S63 engines, carrying the Schmiedmann signature name. And with impressive results to show for it.

Now we're ready with a brand new turbo for the N57T2 engines; the Schmiedmann signature stage 1 replacement kit:

Specifications:
  • Upgraded 15T CNC milled charger wheel
  • Original turbine axle (cutback).
  • Upgraded wastegate bush (get rid of the wastegate rattle).
  • Upgraded bearings.
  • Balanced in a VSR machine at 180.000 rpm.
  • 100% OEM installation plug & play.
  • Can deliver up to 400HP. (with a high amount of torque)

Links:

Read more about the turbos

We recently installed the turbo on a BMW E91 335D. Read the full story of that project

Read another tale of success with the Schmiedmann signature stage 2 turbos, in this case installed on a BMW E90 LCI -S3- 335I

If you have any questions on the turbos, do not hesitate to ask. Either in a comment in this thread, via our website www.schmiedmann.com or via e-mail directly at odense@schmiedmann.com.

Now this is interesting! So is this a single turbo to replace the compound turbos, or does it just replace the little turbo, and keep the stock big turbo? Cost?

Do you have the compressor map to show 700hp worth of flow?

Maxed out OEM hybrid turbos have been measured flowing roughly 65lb of air. Do you have any flow data for your turbos?

If I'm reading this right, it looks like they use the stock turbine wheel.

1. Upgrade 15T CNC milled charger wheel
2. Original turbine axle (cutback).
3. Upgraded wastegate bush (get rid of the wastegate rattle).
4. Upgraded bearings.
5. Balanced in a VSR machine at 180.000 rpm.
6. 100% OEM installation, plug & play.
7. Can deliver up to 700HP.(with an high amount of torque).

No, it's a set of hybrids. The links provided list all the info.

Yup, the "Owner doesn't want the numbers released"

It's no where near 700hp. Hell, I bet it's not even 500hp if the stock turbine wheel is used.

It said in the description that it's an engineered, cnc milled wheel. The stock piece you're referring to is the turbine AXLE. Very different than the wheel

Yea, except...

Upgraded 15T CNC milled charger wheel. This is the compressor wheel.
Original turbine axle (cutback). "cutback" refers to clipping of the ORIGINAL turbine wheel.

You can't clip the axle and as you stated, the AXLE is very different from the wheel. But, since you mention it being very different... "axle" wheel or "shaft" wheel is often used to describe the turbine, drive or hot-side wheel and shaft assembly.

From what I can tell, they modified the cold side and left the hot side stock, which is what the most used to do because modifying the hot side required a special jig due to the odd shape of the 335d LP housing and a large amount of man hours to machine and fit the larger exhaust wheel.

Hello 335dsleeper

Here in Denmark, we have some very strict rules regarding tuning. You can upgrade the car's performance by only 20%, anything above is not road legal.

Therefore, the owner didn't want the numbers published for the sake of not getting in to legal trouble. He's simply being cautious.

But if you - and others - want it, I should be able to send you the numbers in a private message. I'll just have to clarify this with the customer first.

Thank you for your interest in the turbos!

The set consists of 2x turbos, thus replacing both. :-)

They cost 2,089.68 USD excl. vat.

You can read more about them right here: https://www.schmiedmann.com/en/produ...=SCMTM57286ST1

Best regards

That'd be great.

Also, have you installed a larger exhaust wheel on the LP turbo or did you just clip the stock wheel?

Gotta agree. I don't see the issue of posting the dyno graph. Remove the guys info and all is good.

Hi guys.
I understand you want some proof of the gains of these turbos, but why dyno charts?
In almost all other threads dyno charts is considered not to be proof enough on powergains.
Usually most US guys ask for 1/4 mile numbers???

Are these just OEM replacements that are supposed to be more durable?? No tuning needed for oem replacements?

Everything like oil lines, piping, etc bolt right up with no modifications?

Yes, they're just modified OEM turbos.

We already have true hybrids (modified hot/cold) available from two companies. One is in the US and the other is in Finland. If you want to go hybrid, get a true hybrid turbo.

No I dont have track info.
I just wondered questions about dynocharts popped up since the US audience normally not give much credit to those...
