Reduced power when track launching

Does anyone know if coding out the engine power reduction to prevent brake disc overheating (flr) has an effect on being able to hold rpms with the brake engaged. When I attempt to launch, the rpms drop and kill my launch. It prevents any burnout as well.

Are you trying to use launch control on your 2008 335i? If so, I'm pretty sure it won't work since you don't have a DCT nor launch control.

Did you turn DTC all the way off (long press)? Are you in DS or Manual mode? If you can't hold it at 2k rpms by standing on the brake you have a transmission problem. There's no need to code off anything to brake boost these cars.

Agreed. My procedure is...
Manual mode, 2nd gear
DTC completely off(long press)
Left foot firmly on brakes
Right foot on throttle
Bring RPM up to about 1500-1800, adjust to taste
Release brakes
Feather in throttle
Hold on for dear life
Don't forget to shift.

2nd gear launch? I'm afraid that would be too hard on the tranny / TC? I just got my ride which looks to be same as yours and I'm just trying to figure this stuff out. I do like the hold on for dear life. In first gear it does smoke the tires so yea maybe 2nd?

2nd gear, yes. 1st is pretty much useless, I never use it, not for launches, or daily driving.
