Ah.. I hope it rides at least ok! ~_~. Did you opt for swift springs? I ordered a setup with swift springs and radial bearings - 14(or 16k i asked for his recommendation) fronts and 20k rears.

Thanks!

I have some 3 piece wheels sitting in the garage that I WAS going to build but I'm reconsidering doing that right now. I might throw on some one piece wheels that I sell and have in stock for now, because I'm going to Japan soon and should be saving my funds

It's a small tradeoff but I'll build the other set when I'm done with school etc (last semester in spring)

another update: took the coils off and shipped them. Now waiting for broadway statics to come in. I picked up the front lip that I wanted to learn how to paint on. I picked it up from this place called O-NEX INC. Needless to say, it was cheap so fitment is garbage. Gonna need some serious heat gunning to get this thing to sit properly. when one side is in the other side goes wonko. if I get both sides in then the middle piece goes wonko. *SIGH* lol

I'm just glad I test fitted it before I attempted to paint it because then I might have risked the paint cracking from flexing it so hard

Hey guys! Sorry I have been lagging on the updates. Still patiently waiting for my broadway statics to arrive. He said they should be shipped by the end of this week (which I hope he meant yesterday but no tracking # yet)

In the meantime, I decided to paint my front lip! I ordered paint from automotive touchup and the color seems to match up so far, but I haven't put it up next to the car yet . We'll just have to see when this thing is fully cured!

It was definitely an interesting experience and I made a super ghetto paint booth... but oh well! I did all the prep work and it turned out better than any other rattle can job I have ever done before.. (this was rattle can!) Also, always wear protection!! I had a gas mask that I added onto my order

hood booth

Primer after wetsand with 600 grit + oil/wax remover

1st coat, very thin so the paint can stick to something on the second coat

2nd coat

3rd coat

after clear coat

Clear coat (WET)

Clear coat as of this morning (11 hour cure, will let cure for 2 days)

As you can see, I am extremely surprised of what I could do with a rattle can... It really is all just in the prep work.

The clear needs to be wet-sanded and polished but I have no doubt it'll look phenomenal when I do it!

Unfortunately it is not as perfect as I wanted it to be. It happened to be VERY windy last night so I ran into issues (had to keep garage open so fumes would leave).

During primer to 3rd level of base coat, I only had 2 dust specs that was very easily sanded out.

When I got to the clear coat, all hell broke loose. The winds were furious!!!! So I have a few dust specs here and there but overall I am very satisfied. It'll get rock chipped anyways so I'm not extremely mad about it at all...

As you can see, The coating I painted is very thin. For anyone wanting to do something this size: I would recommend 1 can primer, 2 can base coat, and 2 can clear coat so that you can layer up very nice and thick. I would have done 4 coats if I could have. Overall, for my first paint DIY I am super stoked!

Update on bumpers:
He has the Mtech fronts and M3 sideskirts, but the mtech rears sold out before the containers even arrived.. Not sure what to do anymore!
I am considering just not even getting the mtech front bumper yet but I really do like them... I hate this stock rear so what do you guys think? Just keep the bumper with OEM lip and go m3 sideskirts? I will probably get a josh avery diffuser for the rear bumper since I don't have mtech one right now :'(, but I'll try to go to a junkyard and find one too.

Also, here are the wheels that will be going on the car... after I change tires

I lol'd at your paint booth. Lawnmower and floor jack holding up the tarp. Haha.

Great job on the paint! Makes me want to replace my M3 rep with an M Tech and paint it myself. Would save a good amount of $$.

Cheers!

Thank you!!

Lip installed. Not the best picture but the other pic I took in the sun was before I washed the car .

Fitment is not great but it's ok. Color match is very close, of course the newer paint is a bit brighter

Wrapping the window trim gloss black tomorrow, and hopefully getting new tires for apex tomorrow!

Still waiting for coils sorry folks!

Good job on that lip, I considered getting one myself. Looks like you fixed the warping nicely.

Thank you! It was definitely some work getting this thing to sit nicely but it was well worth it! Lip + paint in total for only $110!
