my mirrors are possessed

I have read all the posts about people’s mirrors folding all the way out, but mine are simply just folding in as if I am locking the car. They do it quite a bit when parked, and even while driving. Sometimes they come out shortly after starting to move, other times they don’t. The mirror fold button doesn’t do anything at all anymore. I can’t figure out why this is happening so any insight on where to look helps! Will attach video shortly.

I’d pull the door card apart and start following wires. Sounds like a short or broken wire could be the culprit

Upon doing so I found no damage to the wires. Should I trace the wires further toward the frm?

Could be faulty/damaged switch.

If you do have broken wires it's more likely the broke in the loom going from the door to the body.

Would also be worth scanning the car with ista. If your control module is faulting it will show up.

If I remember correctly FRM, CAS and JBE modules tie into the outside mirror control.
