Oil Spewing Everywhere (fixed)

Long story short, I’ve got an e90 335 with the n54. What I thought was an oil leak from my charge pipe coupling popping off was actually something different.

I’ve got oil that appears to be violently spewing in the engine bay on the cool side of the car and leaking under the car.

I’m in the process of taking everything apart but wanted to see if there are any early indications of what it may be.

My car has about 120k miles on it and I’ve owned it for about 11 years with decent maintenance. The oil filter housing gasket was replaced 11 years ago and the oil has been changed religiously.

I’m looking for any tips as I investigate but whatever happened appears to be under some type of pressure.

Thanks man. I changed the oil about 2 months ago. I’ll definitely check it out.

I owe you a huge debt. That was it. I cranked it up and oil was pouring out.

That OFH o-ring really pissed me off about two years ago. I had the same leak after an oil change only to find out the new filter came with the wrong diameter o-ring. The difference in thickness was only noticeable if you had them side-by-side. It was a cheap STP filter and the o-ring was red instead of black. I bought a K&N, replaced it, and the leak stopped.
