JB Plus users....
My 2013 335is N54 twin turbo received owner-installed upgrades somewhat recently:
-BMS aluminum chargepipe -TiAL Q50mm BOV -JB Plus plug & play software boost controller -NGK Iridium 2-step colder spark plugs -Dinan performance spark plug coils -Aluminum billet PCV valve -OEM blowby line -Verocious Motorsport silicone vacuum lines Anyone out there running the JB Plus plug & play software booster controller? If yes, are you running it at the "factory default" boost setting? Your thoughts on the JB Plus performance increase? Last edited by E93Seattle (Racerbruce); 07-31-2023 at 03:44 PM.. I feel like the previous owner just dug up a time capsule on what people a decade ago thought the best upgrades were at the time. That’s super strange to install a jb plus today. DINAN COIL PACKS? Cmon.. just flash tune.

Are you aware that JB+ is not meant for the N54T? Can you riddle me why? Because JB+ adds 35whp for an N54. How much does a 335is make over a stock 335i? About…34whp. You won’t find anyone with a 335is running JB+ because the topic was covered a decade ago.

feel free to dialogue with burger motorsports and update this thread when you confirm the jb+ is not meant to be applied to the n54. It’s there because it technically works, not necessarily because it’s an upgrade. If you want a piggyback at least go with JB4. What’s stopping you from flash tuning anyways? Its an even easier process than opening the ECU and repinning for JB products and arguably safer.
To answer your original question, I’m not certain you would feel any difference if you just removed it. The power is exactly the same. |

I don’t really understand you. The JB+ is meant for the N54 yes we agree on that. But the N54T found in 35is cars already makes more power than JB+.
335i and 335is have the same engine but different factory tune, and therefore slightly different engine designation. I’m telling you that it’s a waste of your money to use JB+ because the factory tune on a 335is makes more power with less boost because JB+ cannot alter timing, only boost. The topic was thoroughly discussed on this very forum back in 2012. I’m genuinely curious at this point. Are you new to the platform? What are your goals for power? |

There's not going to be a single person on this forum, or likely even on the BMS forums, that is going to suggest that a jb+ is in any way useful in 2023. |

I had a JB+ on my N55, it was shit.
1st, didn't see any difference, even with draggy. Then I asked BMS to tell me what was the stock value of the JB+ so I can be sure nothing is messed up. They literally told me : '''We do not support the product any more''''. WTF GUYS ! Im asking the stock values, get the .txt data et put it in the email ! 3 minutes of your time ! And the JB+ was 3 years old, on my 2013 1st gen F25, back in 2016. Its not OLD ! Like if BMW dealer won't take a look on my 2021 BMW because is ''too old''. I remove it and sell it. Side note : - after 800-1000km , it was throwing missfire codes (I remove it, and 60 000km later, the code didn't reappear, so it was the JB+) - forums told me the only way to know if this work, is if you feel a shift hang on sport mode on the ZF8 (keep RPM higher). Which indeed the rpm hang very high, but so it does on stock . so bs. |
