If you think you'll need to buy them again, then FCP since you buy it once and it's guaranteed for life. They run around 11 each for OE (stabilus).
If you think you'll only replace them once ever, buy them from whomever is cheapest. There are tons with lots of reviews on Amazon, starting at $12/ pair. |

Stabilus is the preferred brand however when I replaced the blown hood and trunk struts on my 325i I went with the URO brand from Rock Auto. They've been on 3 years now and still work as great as when I first installed them. Only time will tell but I figured it was worth a try for how cheap they were. I'm not sure what other URO parts I would trust, but the hood and trunk struts should be fine.

When my trunk struts failed I replaced them with the 'Stabilus' brand. But I found that they were too powerful and the trunk 'popped up' faster than I liked. I replaced one of the new Stabilus struts with the old OEM strut -- which was weak, but not totally blown.
This worked great. I've had it like this for over 5 years. I've expected to eventually have to replace the OEM strut with the extra Stabilus unit as both struts aged -- but so far the 'mixed' configuration is holding up fine. |

My factory trunk struts were pretty weak from the start. I do prefer the new Stabilus however, made the factory junk look like old, blown struts from the beginning.
Anyway, Uro windshield washer pump, pad sensors, and valve cover all worked nicely so far. I am sure their struts will work fine too. With the typical hood and trunk struts at about $10-12 a piece across brands, just go with the biggest name Stabilus, IMO. |

Autozone. Seriously, ANY auto parts store carries these struts. They might be out of stock at any given store, but they are common parts. Take a sample with you so you can match the length and mounting options. |
