Possible blown head gasket..

As of yesterday my car had started overheating, gauge goes all the way to the right and limp mode. I checked the coolant reservoir and there was some oil inside of it. I checked the oil cap and did not see any coolant, however upon further inspection I noticed that there was dried up coolant underneath the intake manifold and on top of the HPFP, coating the engine, looks like it was spraying out at one point. I was thinking it was the oil filter housing gasket since where it sits its somewhat possible, but doesn't explain why the car is overheating. Before I take the head off the engine and replace it can anyone tell me anything else I can check? I looked through the forums and found some on this issue but none of them also stated that their car was overheating so If anyone has had anything similar happen I'm glad to take the advice. Also the water pump runs just fine.

Have you done a compression and leak-down test yet? If not, I would start there.

It could explain the overheating. Best case scenario if there’s enough oil in the cooling system from a bad OFHG it could stop the coolant from doing its job. I don’t know about under the manifold though, can the OFHG leak from the back?
