2011 N55 Cold start and 1st gear oil pressure too high?
Hello, im not sure if the oil pressure is normal when i start the car cold oil temp. 8C it reaches to 119-123psi that seems really high and it sits arround 42psi at idle when warm 100C also in 1st gear pull its going up arround 112psi even when warm.
Also all gears pulls from 2nd gear showing 81psi oil pressure max. im using Shell Helix HX8 ECT 5W-40 BMW LL04 and Mann oil filter i noticed leak from area where transmission and engine are connected rear main crank shaft seal or oil pan maybe. So can some one tell me what are the correct oil pressures for these conditions and if its normal please? Engine N55B30A. Mods: Mishimoto race radiator, bms intake, Vargas turbo rad. hose, Stage 1 MHD OTS tune, AC delete. Also guys if you share yours oil pressures in these or similar conditions i would greatly appreciate. Thank you. |

Any update on this issue? My son’s E90 N55 started having same issue recently. Replaced pressure sensor, and also replaced oil cooler lines as well (small leak on return). PSI from MHD shows over 120. Drained and flushed oil, refilled with Castrol euro 5w-40. Still reads high.

Been having this problem with my 2011 e92 335 for as long as I can remember. My friend works at BMW and brought my cars service history. Found it had its oil cooler radiator and thermostat removed and Cylinder 4 replaced? But anyway here's this to look at. If anyone has ideas
2011 e92 335xi (96000 miles) Stage 2 MHD VRSF charge pipe VRSF intercooler VRSF cat-less downpipe Injen cold air intake 5w30 liquimolly New valve cover installed at 86000 In the last month I've replaced: oil pressure sensor: oil pressure control valve: both vanos solenoids and done an oil change. - During cold start (after engine has completely cooled down over long period) engine oil pressure stays around 110-115 PSI, after warming up past 105 degrees, pressure drops down to normal which is around 40-75. Whilst driving under 220 degrees oil temp oil pressures remain good and normal around 40-80 and no smoke, Once engine oil is above 220 degrees and under 30 MPH car smokes and oil pressure is above 110, once above 30 MPH oil pressure drops to normal pressures and if smoke is present it will go away. I looked under my car recently and found my turbo seal is blown as a result I think of the high oil pressure. Been losing my mind trying to figure it out because I don't want to bring it to bmw and have my pockets swept. Anyone have ideas? |
