2009 e92 no power to radio, no sound from parking sensors, chimes or dash warnings
Hi All,
Would be grateful for any input which may help me fix or determine the issue with my radio. Aside from getting no power to the radio, my parking sensors don't work and none of dash warnings or chimes make a noise. The radio is a 'BMW PROFESSIONAL', 'BMW Group, Model no. CD73, Part No. 65. 12-9 205 962, manufactured 2009.04.02 (April) The last seven digits of my VIN are: PM40845 As you can see from attachments, I do not have an external amp located in the boot of my vehicle. I only have my Bluetooth module. When I take out the plug going into the Bluetooth module, it doesn't light up with the ignition nor the engine running. I can very happily say that the battery is not the issue. It's a 6 month old battery with the correct spec for my vehicle that was registered. I have also charged it up to 100% of it's capacity with my CTEK MSX 5.0 Things I have tried: -Disconnecting the battery to reset the system -replaced all the fuses in the fuse box within the glove compartment that relate to the radio -replaced the fuse at the back of the radio Would appreciate any help, Kind regards |

measure the voltages or there is no real facts.
Did you measure the fuses? doesn't matter if it's new or old. All the chimes come through the Radio's on everything but and 06. Radio is never real off due to this the display is just muted. Read about the IBS system in the electrical pdf . It can cut power to modules that are not necessary to start the car or keep it running. Funny looking corrosion on that plate next to the Most Cable. |

the easies thing is to remove quadlock connector from radio and check voltage on it's pins with thick red/green and brown wire contacts.

Hi, I have the same issue with my 2008 e91, I bought the car with no working radio, BMW Professional Radio (Alpine cd73), which does not work (PDC, gong sound not working too). I gave the Alpine CD73 to some guy, and he fixed the radio module (something with memory) and now the unit turning on the table, but the radio is still not working on the car. So, we checked - and there is no power on the connector as well as no power on the respective fuse in the fuse box (behind the glovebox). The bimmer link software did not see the audio module (The battery is just 2 y.o. (and about 20k kilometers) and the bimmer link says it charged to 90%.). there is no amplifier in the trunk. Any idea where to find the problem?

All the gong sounds come through the Radio .
The radio is never really off the display is just muted. Did you read the electrical pdf's in the previous post. I guess you have measured voltage with a volt meter. Read the stuff about terminal 15 in the electrical pdf's and terminal 30 Ista D is really a better program in all respects for working on these as it's diagnostic and database with schematics procedures and guided trouble shooting. Euro Spec cars may be different so take what I print with a grain of salt. Make sure you have the right diagram for the fuses as they vary a little form year to year. http://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=j...,d.cGU&cad=rja Last edited by ctuna; 05-25-2022 at 02:08 PM.. |
