MHD IDrive integration into CCC
A while ago I did a video of how I integrated JB4 mobile into he Idrive screen.
Since then I switched to MHD so I changed the setup around a little. https://www.amazon.com/Diageng-Profi.../dp/B00EECXAY8 Using the above cable so I can actually cover up the OBD port, I ran it to the driver footwell area where it connects the a cheap amazon cable that most of us already use. It all gets covered up bu the footwell plastic panel and ran into the glovebox. In the fusebox area I use a CCC video input box, thats connected to an android mini PC that runs MHD. Best of all its a clean stealth integration, meaning no wires are sticking out no wired switches ETC. When you open up your car the mini Android PC powers up and with 20-30 seconds launches MHD by default. The only nuisance I have is where is JB4 mobile went to the logging screen on launch, MHD goes to the Home screen. So I have to hit "MON." and the "MONITOR" Wish MHD added an additional setting where it would go strait to monitor on startup. Now I am not going to trust this to flash the car. 1) I dont trust the Ribbon cable. 2) many modules power cycle when flashing it would be bad if the android PC looses power mid flash. |

So what is a mini android PC ?
I did a quick look and stopped after I kept seeing just TV video devices. |

FYI, I flash my car through a cable like this all the time.
Maybe you could use a battery to keep the Android PC powered up? Hardwire something like this in: https://www.blackvue.com/power-magic-battery-pack/ |

I was considering using an external battery pack, that has the ability to charge and discharge at the same time. |

If you have a CIC system you have a LOT of options as you can use HDMI. |

I never heard of such a thing. I thought he just must be talking about an Android tablet, but the only video output from Android tablets that I'm aware of is from a micro HDMI port. You'd have to add some digital to analog conversion to get a signal that can be input into RCA video inputs. I'm also not sure how you'd keep a permanently installed tablet charged all of the time. Sounds interesting, but also a lot of work. I'm happy with slipping my phone into the ProClip mount on my dashboard.

1)Wireless charging for charging 2)using micro usb for video out and USB OTG. 3)using HDMI to RCA converter (digital to analog) but the size and complexity was a little too much. the simplest systems are the most reliable once. Here are a few pictures of the measy U2C and AV cables I used really simple and really cheap. |

I got a CIC, could you please suggest me a unit which lets me attach a HDMI device? I found lots of interfaces, but all have only CVBS-Video, which I'm afraid the quality won't be good... Thanks!
