PPK Flash N55

Hi,

Does anyone on here flash PPK still for the N55? I'll eventually get MHD but looking to do PPK for now to get some extra power/torque plus burble. While I save up $ for FBO parts and the MHD super license. I'm aware of the DIY thread but not up for it or savy enough lol. Willing to pay someone. Located in SoCal.

Thank you !

Thank you for that BIN file. Looks like it's possible to flash it with BMWFlashTool which I download while on my search.

Maaaan that's like a million times easier than what I did, which was poking around through about 6 files on WinKFP and praying that the flash wouldn't brick my car.

Did you successfully flash the PPK onto your car at the end of the day?

Thanks

Yeah, overall it really wasn't that bad of a process. I've done ECU flashes with WinKFP before and was a little familiar with it. The hardest part was making absolutely 100% sure I was flashing the right file.

Do you know where to find the PPK bins for F3x N55s?

Honestly you will probably get bored of that power quickly, Just get mhd and go stage 1 with a charge pipe. I run mild aggressive burbles on my stock dp and the car is way more fun. Cant wait to go stage 2!

I have a question guys, for an N55 E92 335i. If I install the PPK tune via MHD and then install the MHD Stage 1 or Stage 1+ will the burbles/afterfires from PPK remain? I like more that natural sound compared to the pops and bangs from MHD maps

You just have to adjust burbles in Stage 1 pre-flash options. That ppk file from Tunafish is considered a MHD custom tune.

--------------------------
I'm more of concern of Tunafish's ppk bin file will result error if it's flashed by that bmwflash tool. I don't even know that flash tool is legitimate anb wonder if anyone had really used that tool before.

Update: It doesn't lol. https://bimmer(software)(dot)com/bmwflash with no ( )

I had a similar question for a different outcome - I actually wanted to use MHD in hopes of controlling the MPPK burbles. I asked them very specifically if MHD could control MPPK burbles, and received the answer below.

"you can disable burbles, simply activate burbles and set both duration sliders to 0s".

This leads me to believe that if you'd like, MHD can cancel the MPPK burbles. With that said, I also believe that, unless you add burbles in mhd, the standard mppk ones will remain. So you should be okay.

Forgot to came up with an update. The MPPK burbles remain even with MHD installed. Only if you set the sliders to 0 as Scott said it disables them.
Also, for EU car owners, the PPK bin is for an US car and will throw a CEL due to DTML (not present in EU cars).

Cool! Quick question for you actually since I lost my MPPK flash during a software update.

Specifically, which MHD flasher did you use for MPPK (maps, flasher, super license)? And did you use that Mega file?
Would love to redo it myself but confused on these parts.

You can only use the flasher license from MHD if you only want to put the MPPK. The maps inclusee the OTS maps from MHD for stage 1, 2 etc and the super license includes all the maps and the data logging feature.

Yes, I used the BIN file from Tunafish (the one in the mega file https://mega.nz/file/9KpDSAqA#Gsn3na...vrQ1J11XiWEZzU) but I eventually removed it since my car is an EU spec and is throwing the CEL code due to the error above. For US spec cars, it’s good.
