Are there any benefits to doing the full M3 rear end swap instead?

I’ve done some research. Pumpkin swap is plug and play while complete M3 rear end swap may net you a marginally better end result for more time and $$. IIRC, custom driveshaft is required or half of a 135i shaft mixed with half of M3. The info is out if you search.

So for a 6 MT 335i, it is possible to swap in a rear differential from an M3 without anything else required? Does it have to be a 6MT M3 donor?

No, you need M3 axles and a modified driveshaft at least
