N52 Oil Filler Cap Retrofit?
I tried looking for this, it doesn't look like it exists but I'm hoping someone can help here
The regular unscrew/swivel thing just doesn't work for me anymore - I need a simple retrofit option as I have a swaybar that's now almost directly over top of it. Does anyone know if there is such a thing or am I SOL? I resolved this guys. I just got an N52N Oil Cap. Check the video here: Highly recommended. If you try to order the existing 'unscrew/swivel thing' from a BMW dealer, you'll find it's been deleted and replaced with a non-swivel, round cap. It looks like this:
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/BMW-Genui...cAAOSw~T9aitzq Not sure if you'll like that any better though...

You mean you have a strut bar across the top of the engine. The sway bar is located in the suspension on the bottom of the car.
If the oil fill cap can't be opened because the strut bar is "almost over top of it", how can you pour oil in the opening? Maybe you need a different strut bar.

Yes. RealOEM will tell you that the new part number is 11128655331 and can be exchanged retrospectively for the 'swivel' cap. It's specified for a host of BMW models from 1-series to 7-series and everything inbetween...

If the OP has a US Market 325i, I don't think the screw-on oil cap fits the USA N52 engine with the magnesium valve cover. 5331 doesn't show up for a USA Type Code VB13, which is a 2006 N52 325i for the USA market. The 5331 cap looks like it fits the plastic valve cover only.

How do you like this bar? I'm sure that the more suspension work that you have done, the more this makes a difference. What would you think about it on a car with just the stock "M-Sport" suspension, slightly bigger sway-bar, and upgraded sub-frame connectors. Either way, the "bling" factor alone is worth the price. Looks very nice under your hood!

There aren’t major any downsides though, besides 100 less clams in your wallet. The brace is aluminum so really doesn’t weight much, maybe 3-4lbs but I haven’t actually weighed it. The only other downside is you need to remove the brace anytime you want to take off the plastic engine cover. There’s no way to get the cover off with the brace on. So that adds a minute to the process of taking off the engine cover. (The brace is held on by 2 of the strut nuts on each side, so you have to remove 4 nuts total to get it off.)

I am using an N55 oil filler cap on my magnesium cover N52 with no issues. The VTT ones should fit just as well.

It's been on the car now for a few months, no seepage of oil whatsoever. The previous cap had a bit of "mist" around the little rubber pad that goes between the old cap and the valve cover. |

If you want a nice low profile cap with that sweet M-logo you can also go for the 11121405452 from the old S-engines, fits fine on my N52 and M52TU
https://www.bimmerworld.com/Oil-Fill...21405452-1.jpg Looks like this on my 325i with a Polish black painted mild steel strut brace:
