Question Airbag condition - surface rust?

I'm looking to buy a used airbag for a sport wheel retrofit and this is a picture I got of the back of it from the seller.

Is this a concern? Is this kind of surface corrosion normal on the backplate of an airbag? The seller claims it never got wet etc. But I'm not sure.
I would certainly not want to risk airbag failure!

Has anyone seen this surface corrosion?

Thanks.

Anyone? Shall I pass on this airbag?

As long as it functions fine and the contacts are not corroded I wouldn't worry about surface rust

Thanks for the reply.

That's the dilemma of how to find out whether it functions fine.
The contacts are clean.
I've read that the problem with the recalled airbags is from moisture exposure possible in the Southern areas. So, I wouldn't want an airbag that may have some moisture damage already and have that deploy randomly in my face or worse when when my wife is driving.

I'm hoping someone would have seen a similar surface corrosion on their airbag just to confirm that it can happen and it's normal.

I'm seeing similar reports of other manufacturers online. Surface rust doesn't appear to be a concern.

Thank you. It seems I took too long and the airbag is sold.
Ah well, now we know this is not a deal breaker.
