Spacer size suggestion for E92 (Pic included)

Running 19x8.5 ET40 235/35/19 in the front for my E92.
Lowered on H&R sport.

I'm thinking of getting a 12mm spacer, I read that ET30 will work perfectly fine without problems at all. But will that extra 2mm cause problems? Just don't want to regret in getting a 10mm when a 12mm could have been perfect.

Here is a picture of how it looks in the front right now to give you an idea of the tire's side wall as well.

**12mm spacers arrived, it rubs when doing u-turns (near-max to max turning angle) but it seems like there is still some roof left to space out. 15mm-17mm would make it look perfect, but it would rub like mad.
10mm would probably be safer, but I never track the car so I am happy with the 12mm spacers. Right now the thin trim/edge of the tire is right at the fender, would look better if the part where the tire starts curving most is at the fender for a slight poke look.**

extra 2mm cause a problem? lol, i was gonna suggest you to get 15mm spacers haha

I measured it and it has about 17mm of clearance left so I was also thinking of getting 15mm.

Only problem is that I had another set of wheels before with specs of 19x8.5 ET30 in the front with 235/35/19 tires and my car was not lowered, it rubbed slightly at steep inclines when the steering wheel was cranked fully. (Tires were different though, Yokohoma tires vs the current Vredestein ultra)

I just went through this same dilemma. If you want to be safe and have absolutely no rubbing no matter what tire you put on there then go with the 10 mm spacer. If you want to take a chance that a wider tire like a Michelin PSS (wide) could rub in the future then go with a 12 mm. A 15 mm spacer will be right on the edge of what you can do without having to worry about running a size smaller tire, adding camber etc.

I chose the 10 mm spacer.

you'll be fine with the 12mm spacer, I had a 19x8.5 +35 with a 15mm spacer and i didnt rub. Also I'm really surprised that your +40 offset isnt hitting your strut.

Good to hear, just ordered a pair.

Yeah the front is almost like the OEM wheels, around 5mm less aggressive with a 10mm wider tire.
