Tire recommendations with 19" alloys
Hi all
E92 M sport with Potenza runflats and 19" 313 alloys. I'm fed up of the uncomfortable ride, the stiffness when driving in general. I'm ditching the runflats but what should I go for, as there is many tires on market? I'm thinking Michelin PS4s, P-Zeros? Anyone have a good recommendation for a tyre running the 19inch alloys? |

PS4S. I've got 437Ms on my E92 in 245/35 and 275/30. Excellent tires in both wet and dry. Take a little time to warm up in cold weather, but much, much better than the Super Sports I had on previously.

Anything will be better than run flats!
I'm on Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 5 which I quite like, when these wear out I'll go for PS4S. I found I had to experiment with the tyre pressures a bit after switching, the pressures on the door sticker are a bit too high (in my opinion) for non run flats. |

OP - I`m switching from runflats to PS4S 235/35 & 265/30 on Sunday (first tyre change since owning the car). Hoping for all of the benefits you mentioned plus more (big fan of Michelin from past cars). Rims are M double spoke 225`s

Appreciate all the replies. I ended up going for the PS4s 225/35/19 and 255/30/19. Not even joking, one of the best decisions i've made in 2020 lol. Night and day difference compared to the shitty Potenza run flats the car had.
Although the car has the m sport suspension - Handling, grip and comfort has improved and I'm happy with the 'upgrade'. Was considering the P-Zeros as they are at least £100 cheaper, however I've heard the ride isn't very comfortable. To top it all off the car is going to BMW for an alloy wheel refurb. 4 wheels for £180 - absolute steal |

I was thinking of going next profile up when i next need tyres, so instead of 35 on front getting 40 and 35 on rear, i run 255/30/19 at the back at the moment is there anything bad about this other than the speedo being a little out? I run PS4s.
Mainly to improve ride and protect rims. |

What did you end up going with as I may have to go through the same journey?
[/QUOTE] I'm currently on 2.3 bar front 2.6 bar rear. This changes quite a lot though, I have a pressure gauge in the glove box and can't resist fiddling! I also have 225 wheels, they seem to be made of an alloy that's softer than butter and love to flat spot from pot holes, especially with the low profile tyres. I'd recommend asking your tyre fitter to check for flat spots when fitting / balancing. Check for cracks too: I've been through a tyre fitter and MOT with a cracked wheel and no one noticed! |
