330i N53 fault code 2AAF fuel pump plausibility

Low mileage 330i runs a bit rough if you try and pull away from low revs (under 1,400 revs only)

Cleared the codes and after several test runs the code which always comes back is 2AAF fuel pump plausibity.

Anyone experienced this and how did you fix it.

From reading up it sounds like low pressure fuel pump but also read that if there are no other associated fault codes coming up then do not replace.

Anyone been through this please share what you did?

Note - if the car is not driven at low revs its absolutely fine so its just this low revs hesitation which is annoying in traffic jams etc.

I had similar symptoms. My indy gave the car a full BMW diagnostic and found a faulty low pressure fuel pump control unit. For what's it's worth...

My 35i had 2AAF last year. I didn't have any rough running though, just an EML under hard acceleration. I replaced the low pressure fuel sensor which cured it.
