2D15 - O2 Sensor Delayed Response - Rich to Lean (Bank 1 Sensor 2)
2CED - O2 Sensor Slow Response - Rich to Lean (Bank 1 Sensor 2)
I scanned my car today and had 2D15 -- Monitors are Ready and no CEL

does auto-clear mean it clears the codes so they wont be picked up later when scanned by a device even?

debating on whether to just go auto-clear on JB4 or buy the cat sim

how does the catsim install? does it splice into any wires?

The peace of mind is well worth the cost of admission as something potentially critical that may have been auto cleared will be brought to your attention.

Instructions are included with the device.

Update:

Had the AA catless downpipe and catsim installed Wednesday. No codes until Saturday (today). Took the car to the drag strip to see if the catless downpipe gave me more power (it didn't). Sometime after a few runs, I noticed a code 2d15. Looked it up and it has something to do with the O2 sensor. Cleared it, and it never came back.

What was your trap speed before and after the catless DP?

Before: ETs were between 13.0 and 13.2; MPH were between 106 and 108.
After: Same as above.

Has anyone run into issues disabling auto clear on your JB4?

I selected 1-4 which should be disable auto clear but I haven't gotten any codes after about 30 miles of driving including multiple hard pulls. I don't want to install the cat sim until I'm sure which codes I have, everything else is healthy, etc.

I might be wrong about this but I think the codes show up after a full drive cycle. I don't think it's limited to the amount of miles. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong.

I do know that even with autoclear enabled you still will see a visual check engine light that will rapidly disappear, but none the less a warning will sound and the light should show up. If you scan for codes does it show you all systems are in ready state? Or are the monitors not ready??

It's been more than a week since I installed a catless downpipe and the a74 catsim solution. I have Dinan S2 software (no JB4). So far, so good. No codes, no warning lights.

Hahaha. After a week, with mixed driving, you certainly would have completed the drive cycle required to clear all the monitors. Without a CEL yet, it's safe to say you're all good.

Not a bad idea to put a scanner on it real quick to confirm...but as everyone has found this fix to actually work, no reason to suspect you're not good to go.

Can you recommend a good scanner (not made in China)?

For anyone who has doubted A R E A 7 4's o2 CatSim (Which I am sure there are people out there). I just passed New York State's Emission's (NYSI) with my Kitty-less Down Pipe. I was getting the pending code: 2D15 - O2 Sensor Delayed Response - Rich to Lean (Bank 1 Sensor 2) And 2CED - O2 Sensor Slow Response - Rich to Lean (Bank 1 Sensor 2), But after clearing them a few times I have not seen them come back for about 100 miles so far. I ended up soldering my wires to the Harness for the extra security and then used heat shrink as well. It seemed when I was monitoring my Drive Cycle that the o2 sim / BMW's DME was learning the system / Each other? But I can be wrong. Thanks Again A R E A 7 4 and kevBquick!!!!! You have saved me 3-4 hours+ from taken my DP off / On.

Yes it's on their website. KevBquick made an N55-specific DIY also.

Update:

The catless DP and catsim were installed on 2 March 2016.

The only code that came up since then happened once—when I was at the drag strip on 5 March 2016. I can't remember what the code was, but I'm pretty sure is started with a "2" and ended with a "15". 2C15? Whatever it was, I looked it up and it was related to the O2 sensor. I cleared it, and it never came back.

I went to the dyno on 9 March 2016 and made three pulls. No codes.

And since then, I have been driving the car normally. No codes.
