Bimmerlabs Flash Error only for 1 car
I have a flash error for only 1 car and I have no idea why this is happening. I have flashed many rsa deletes and 330 tunes and flashed many back to the stock programing and stock software plenty of times, but this 1 particular car gets this error shown below:
This is with a 100% working brand new BimmerGeeks cable that can currently flash my other two e91s back and forth with no problems. So that narrows it down to my cable being good, my laptop and setup being good, so the only thing that may be wrong is the file download itself. This is for the 06 325i msv70. For some reason I think those files aren't working off the bimmerlabs download link. Can anyone confirm that those files work? I see 1 rsa delete and 1 330i tune and 2 stock programs and 2 stock tunes. None of these files seem to be working and I get this error each time... |

Upon exploring winkfp in comfort mode, I can’t find the zusb number to enter.
I checked the UIF in INPA and the zusb number is blank. When I try to use the ZB# from bimmerlabs it gives an error saying the number is wrong. Every time I enter the ZUSB number it gives me an error. 7602220 8613000 8608332 8608330 8609540 Error 704: Error on determining the ZB number! Last edited by bsmoov; 09-18-2022 at 12:44 PM.. |

Got the ZB number and it loads the correct zb and hardware files, but nothing happens.
I get the errors below. When I try to change the WinKFP settings to the parameters that bimmerlabs has, it will let me change everything except the ECU address. Bimmerlabs says it should be 12, but when I put in 12 I get the errors below: |

your screenshot says address 18? it's definitely supposed to be 12.
anyway, yes the files definitely work. they have not changed in like 4 years. there is an error either with the cable, the laptop, or the setup of the BMW software. |

I have 3 e91s. Two 2007 328i and one 2006 325xi and with this same exact brand new bimmerlabs cable I just bought, the same laptop and the same batch process setup, I’m able to rsa delete and 330 flash and stock program and stock tune on everyone one of them except this one 2006 325i e90. I don’t think there is anything wrong with the setup, cable or laptop if I’m able to do it to the other cars, right? The only reason I was messing with winkfp was because rjahl asked if I could do it in comfort mode. I don’t know how to do comfort mode but when I was exploring the settings it wouldn’t let me change it. |

Either way, when I run the bimmerlabs batch flash it shows it' s on the correct address of 12 when the error happens as shown below.
I'm trying attempt to fix it via comfort mode, can anyone chime in with the steps to do so? |

I thought those were referenced directly from the control file? |

If you're referring to this screenshot pop up below, those are just the default parameters that pop up when I open winKFP and click expert mode. That being said, I know the pop up below is wrong, but I can correct everything except for the ECU Address because it gives me an error. Either way with the default parameters like that in winKFP, when I use the batch process for flashing it works on all of my cars successfully, except this 2006 325i e90. |

your ECU address is wrong in that screenshot. it has to be 12. it won't work with it set to 18. what error do you get?
also you should use the specific MSV70.prg or MSV80.prg, not the generic 08flash.prg. maybe that's why you get an address error. your HW interface is also blank. I'm assuming you're trying to flash manually? |

I’m attempting to flash manually because flashing batch doesn’t work for this 1 car. Flashing batch works for every of my other cars no problem with the same cable, laptop, and setup. When I try to change it from 18 to 12, it says ecu address error and I get a pop up box saying that. Yes I did use the correct .prg file for those field and I’m able to change everything except the ecu address field. |

if it says ECU address error then it seems likely that the cable is not communicating with the DME. the MSV70 cars don't use CAN for flashing so maybe the cable is set to use CAN instead of k-line?

I’ll try that and report back, but I don’t think it’s that issue since the same method I use can do both MSV70 and MSV80 flashes. I’ve always had my switch to the far left side I’m not sure if that’s CAN or k-line. |
