BTW, if the dealership is saying that the procede or vac line is causing a rough idle, do a quick search and find out how many 335 owners with bone stock cars are complaining about having a rough idle that bounces around, and causes a vibration that you can feel in your seat. I've had it on my car since the first day I picked it up.

Agree. Unless they actually take the time to open up the ECU and check for electrical tape goo around the wires in the 4 slots, but I very much doubt that this will happen.

O man...but they will need to show you PROOF! They can speculate and accuse all they want about your boost solenoid. Without solid PROOF..You can and should deny it to the core! Warranty can not be void without PROOF.
Good luck man |

they have proof of a modified boost solenoid, bypassing the engine controls.... they can slap a big black flag on his car just for that. demanding proof is just going to piss them off, and right now, the op is at the dealership's mercy. its not a court of law where they're required to show proof. not yet anyway. Magnuson Moss is nice, but getting it to work for you is a total bitch. as i said before them=lots of lawyers, lots of money. you= not so much. its david and goliath, and you need to pick how you fight carefully. I've seen an entire ABS and clutch system warranty voided because of SuperBlue brake fluid. because its blue, its not DOT4. an entire drivetrain warranty voided due to an ecu flash. the only way the guy was able to get his warranty back was to replace the engine, ecu, turbo, and anything that the mod directly affected. i think it was subaru or mitsu that monitored rally events then voided the warranties of their participants. its not that easy to fight a mfr warranty void.

lesson learn for others... remove all trace of piggy back.. include the bypass.
Leave no trace of piggy back when taken the car to dealership...for any kind of work. Otherwise, deal with it. I wonder if they will bitch at my boost gauge tap in?

ahha....I could only imagine that one. Rubbing alcohol will work as well and leave no odor.
Service tech and SA's can be Aholes, or they can be great. I had a heavily modded S60R that basically stopped the entire dealership in their tracks the first time I took it in for regular maintenance. It was loud as hell so everyone that gave a crap about cars stopped to check it out when I pulled up. Master tech's were all over the car checking out the mods more out of interest than wanting to blackball me. My service advisor knew me well, it was my 3rd Volvo with them, all modified. In the end he basically just said you still have a warranty until something breaks related to the mods I had on the car. They were a respectable dealership and I respected them as much as they respected me. If my engine blew because it was overboosted I would not have expected them to cover it under warranty. As a result anytime I had little crap go wrong, or a strut blew, they covered it no questions asked. I did however catch one of the master techs out on a joyride. I was out in my loaner when he FLEW past me on the highway, probably at 100mph+. I saw him coming in my rearview w / a shit eating grin on his face. I approached him at the dealership and before I could even say anything he approached me and said, "that is one badass car man! Good job!" That kind of shut me up and we just chatted. He ended doing a few mods for me at no charge after that. Bottom line, make good with your dealer. Don't expect them to look the other way when your mods break, but at the same time expect them to hold up their end of the bargain, its how they are making money anyway. OP, goodluck, sounds like you found yourself a crappy dealer.

Probably, it will make them suspect you upped the boost. I'm guessing that would not be easy to hide?

Didnt this happen back in the B5 S4 days?
Audi dealers were voiding out warranties if they found out you were "chipped". Didnt matter if the issues was related or not.
