One of the things that really worries me about, umm, how to put this diplomatically, less sophisticated piggybacks, is that some real problems are going to emerge, and BMW will take severe action against all such mods. The PROcede will get thrown out with the JB bathwater.

Use the BMW connectors for your wiring to prevent the electrical tape goo.

Second, in regard to dealers, what I have found to be important is a history of interaction, a long term relationship. A dealer may treat one customer well, but another not so well, based on the difference in the kind of relationship -- are you going to be a good customer for a long time for them? If so, then they are likely to take better care of you. "Dealer hopping" is not likely to be a good way to establish this kind of trust.

If I were you, I would do my best to communicate to my dealer (SA, CA) that you really like the dealership, and hope to be a lifelong customer that will moreover bring in lots of other customers because you say good things about them, but that this issue of an engine warranty is a deal-breaker. You do your best to take good care of your car, and expect them to honor their part of the bargain. If so, they can expect a valuable life-long loyal customer. If the issue is pushed, I would suggest asking their opinion of what the consequences of modding your car are, and that you had no idea that it would harm it, and void your warranty contra the Magnuson-Moss act.
+1. All excellent advice. As my grandmother used to say, "you get more with giving honey than salt." OR something like that anyway.

I am going to use JMK... any opinion on them? I brought my stock e46 M3 there and they were pretty good, fast with repairs, took care of the car, and seemed like a good place. I would be using them for repairs with my 335xi coupe on order... my question is.. how are they with mods?

Of course your 'Procede just kicked in yo' t-shirt didn't help matters much while you were at the dealership
The voided his engine warranty which is the right call IMO. Hard to hold the manufacturer liable for an engine problem when it can't be properly diagnosed because it has been running outside their specs. Makes perfect sense IMO, and to be honest, I'm enjoying it.

Op should steal all of his SA's posted thank you card and replace them with random fake Your Service Sucks card. He'll never notice!

is O2 sensor considered under Engine warranty?

O2 sensor is different. It's a static part that just takes measurements.

Remember guys, the dealership doesn't do warranty work for free. They get paid by BMWNA.

Dealership won't void your warranty on paintwork or say your Xenons because u have a Procede. You must use some common sense and accept the potential for having some personal liability.

That's why they normally don't reject warranty work ( orders ). They have to make a discount price for this kind of work but payment is 100% guaranteed. Somehow relevant in these times .

they have been know to push back if BMWNA notices a large number of questionable warranty claims from said dealer

You have to talk to your SA, but that might not be that easy because of volume at some places. When my car was in for service, I saw a modded M5 pull in which was in for the 3rd time. THey never once mentioned anything about it being modded.
