Question need to upgrade my sounds, help!!! Problem solved!

Hi everyone. I have an idrive cic system with subwoofers under the front seats. It's very poor I havnt got an amp in the boot only the Bluetooth idrive control box. As I don't have the amp installed I take it I have the most basic system and have room for a fair bit of upgrading.

I'm after keeping a stock look but having a nice loud clear and full of bass system. I don't mind fitting a 10" subwoofer in the boot in one of them stealth box's that sit on the right of the boot. So does anyone have any ideas on what system I have and what I can do to upgrade it?

I'm on a budget of £500 and second hand parts are fine.

SORTED!!!!!!

FYI

You will have a hard time doing much on that budjet unless you
are talented at scouring the net for bargains. The stuff that works, fits and sounds good in these cars tends to be moderately to very expensive.

There are some English guys that are quite knowledgeable on the stereo and other stuff in these cars. You might be able to get some help from them.
You should take a look at the UK sub forum also as some of them post there a lot.

Do you have tweeters up front?

I'm pretty sure you have the base system. For that price you could probably find an ms8, hifi underseat subs, and logic 7 mids and tweeters. You'd also need technics harness and the tweeter pods. That would be a decent upgrade but you would get better sound quality with an amp and better speakers.

All sorted, Just ordered 2 sws subs, vibe liteair mono amp, vibe liteair stereo 4 amp and 4 vibe 4'' coaxial speakers and spent just short of £400. I feel iv had a result and think this should sound pretty good. What do you guys think?

What are you doing about the eq

What are you doing about the eq?
Recode or eq flatening device?
I would have gone for a component set on the front
speakers at least and got the BMW tweeter holders.
You should list the amp specs and how you are going to wire it.
vibes are good amps they are branded as something else in the
US.
What are you using for a harness?

Im not sure what's happening on the fitting part as im going to leave it to the pros on this car and im going to code the head unit when my cable eventually comes through.

I didn't see much point in me putting a component set in the front as they was very expensive for the little mid bass I would get from the 4" driver.

Do you think that alpine v power amps would have been a better choice?

nope the vibes are good amps

nope the vibes are good amps
If you are using 4 inch coaxials they would be no better
than the components for low end and might even be worse.
The more you get involved with the install the more likely you are
to be happy with it.

That's true. Well I paid peanuts for the speakers so I could still get coaxial if a good priced set come up.
