Talking Upgrades from e9x M3 to 335is

Hi there e90 gang,

I was wondering if anyone had or could point me towards an extensive list of what e9x M3 suspension/subframe/chassis bits are plug n play for my 2011 335is. I would also like to know what can work with some light modification or what doesn't work at all. I have been doing some digging and there seems to be some posts about it, just wondering if anyone had a real descriptive thread or link they could share. I want to do controls arms, bushings, trailing arms, sway bar, etc... pretty much anything I can throw at it from the m3. If it matters I do plan to run Bilstein p14 in the near future. I appreciate any help I can get! Also hope everyone is holding up all good during this quarantine bullshit!

As far as I know i'm pretty sure most if not all the suspension bits are interchangeable. Start with M3 control arms, upgrade to thicker aftermarket sway bars and go for Bilstein B6 struts with Eibach springs.

I figured most would be plug n play, just wanted to see if anyone on the interwebs could share some knowledge or experience. Also why the B6 and eibach springs if I may ask? I'm not to knowledgeable in the suspension side of things.

Bilstein is a fantastic company which makes some truly great products. IMO it is the best aftermarket suspension - better than any other fixed struts such as Koni or adjustable coilovers because they offer superior dampening and an extremely long usable life. They pair well with Eibach springs because the drop isn't crazy low or stiff. A good handling suspension setup should always offer a certain level of dampening/comfort. This is why I highly recommend sway bars because they actually make the ride more comfortable if anything while eliminating nearly all body roll.

I recommend you do some more research about suspension on the E90 forum in general - not just for the M3. You will find tons of good enough. You may also want to expand your search to the F10 and F30 sections to gather some more information.

Also, why are you "upgrading" from an M3 to a 335is? Do you just want the extra turbocharged torque?

Oh nooooo not hoping from an m3 to an IS, i meant more of what could i get off an m3 to put on my IS lol. But i definitely will do some more digging, i have been going through a couple different threads when I have the time. I haven't looked into f10 or f30 threads tho so I will give that a look. I appreciate the help on this.

No problem man. Feel free to ask lots of questions. My recommendation is to upgrade everything piece by piece. Start with sway bars front/rear and go from there. If you like to corner spirited camber plates and some alignment tuning can be a worthwhile upgrade.

M3 parts that can go on an e90 w/ out altering your car;

1) M3 control arm kit front & rear
2) M3 swaybars front & rear
3) M3 subframe bushings (rear)
4) M3 Differential bushings

If you want to look at all the parts my suspension install thread has them: https://www.e90post.com/forums/showt...5#post25439025

All the m3 arms w/ upgrades etc.

They are worth it, but expensive.
