bad quality bolts?

I was installing 15mm spacers on my e90 i did this install on 3 different e90s before with no problem at all except for yesterday i installed 3/4 sides torqued down to spec. On the last wheel which was my rear left the bolt started stripping .. is this a installation error on my side or just cheap bolts ... the threading in my hub is still good.

a lot looks wrong, wrong taper, bolts too short, and there a reason OE never have chrome coated threads.

i assumed since bolt stripped at tip it was too short, oe is 26mm + 15m, so it was close close in length but wrong taper seat. as long as it a 10.9 grade bolt you should be fine even if you want to use chrome lugs. i have been using turner lugs (black) as they seem to have a more durable coating (other ebay 10.9 start to rust).

I'd just get a set of quality studs and nuts from somewhere like apex, turner, motorsport hardware, etc. You can run them with or without spacers and some say it's a little easier to mount the wheels with these vs the bolts (I think it's the same). but that way you know it's good quality stuff.
