Lightbulb Video on Vinyl Wrapping your trim

Hey I just got done putting a quick video together wrapping the trim on my e90 07 335xi. Thought it might be usefull to someone looking to do the same and see how it looks before after

I used Shadowlinetrim.com and went with the 4" gloss roll, ended up with a decent amount of extra even with doing my grill so I could have messed up quite a few more times and had enough. Im Really Happy with how it turned out, certainly wasn't perfect since its my first time working with the stuff but unless you are about a foot away from it trying to find something wrong you would never notice anything.

Anyway hope this helps someone!

Nice work! It looks like it matches the black on the car pretty well too.

Nice DIY...great input.

(Pic below not my car)

I'll be doing mine as soon as I get the time. I already have the matte black Shadowline. I went with the 5" with the same idea of cutting in half on the slimmer pieces. However I have a bit of an advantage. Since mine is an e93, it already has natural breaks in the trim due to the way the top folds up.

Before I ordered, I cut a piece of construction paper to 5" x whatever....and made sure it would cover the piece highlighted in RED below. So I'll just lay it straight across it and then trim the vinyl to shape, rather than trying to curve the vinyl.

The only 2 parts I'm worried about is under the mirrors (I'll likely take them off) and the piece that I have circled in GREEN. I don't know if I'll be able to do that in one fluid piece of vinyl or not. Plus it's indented a bit where the rear window rests (when the top is up). Also the black piece that's at the top of it, actually sits on top of that trim....so I may have to remove that piece as well to get the vinyl under it.

I recommend doing the rear bend of the upper trim in a large piece of vinyl. Stretching always messes with the finish and it has a high probability that it it will lift/peel later on; especially as it sits under the sun.
