The awkward snorkel

Like many others, I have gone the DCI route. I kept my stock snorkel in place. Every time I open the hood, it looks....well.....awkward. Like I took my car apart and forgot to put some pieces back.

I've read posts on this forum stating that it still serves a purpose in directing fresh air towards the DCI. But it's still awkward.

What have others done? Screw the snorkel? Other alternative? Leave in place for 'performance'?

Thanks for your input.

I left mine in along with a zip tie mod to direct air towards the filters.

To my surprise I sold mine after having had the whole oem air box listed on OfferUp for a good 6 months. I even forgot about it until the guy asked for it. Lol

The only zip tie in my car is around the neck of the girl in my trunk.

I hacked the accordion looking part out and installed the rest of it back. I added a mesh screen on the hole. The duct still channels air into my engine back towards the filter area
