I tried coding with the lite version of BMWhat using a generic ELM327 bluetooth adapter and it says my vehicle cannot be coded via BT. Mine is an 04/2007, and the chart says it can be coded via BT. It does recognize the modules that can be coded, and can read codes.

I emailed the guy a couple times and instead of answering my questions, he wants me to buy his adapters. The ELM327 adapter I'm using has worked fine for years with the Torque app.

I refuse to spend $60 for the app and even more for the adapters if I don't know what I need or if it will even work.

Get the one they sell.
I just bought the BT ODBII adapter from them.
The real important point is they guarantee 100% compatibility.

It was $43 on Amazon.

i have a bt adapter but i cant figure out how to connect my car to the app.. can anyone help?
and i'm using the lite version, did u guys all actually purchase the full version for $60?

Are you iPhone or Android? BT doesn't work too well with iPhones

I ordered the vgate from Amazon since a few other people had good luck coding with it on the iPhone and were able to do everything. I'll report back later today when I get it in!

Then just bought the full version of BMWhat for Android and away I went coding.

I mainly wanted the corner light delete for the sidelights so my halo's were the only lights on. I was also able to code lots of other things but the main one I actually use is holding the lock button to fold the mirrors (and put up all the windows and close sunroof) and hold it to unlock and roll down all windows and sunroof.

Oh and I turned off the seatbelt chime too, that was handy! Let me know if you get stuck and I'll gladly help out - about time I returned something back to this forum :-)

Turn on Airplane Mode and see if that fixes it.

Am I correct on my understanding that BMWhat will not code the stereo? I want to turn on hifi mode on my pro head unit.

I have the App. I did not see anywhere this coding option.

Cheers. Still might be interested but my car is borderline Bluetooth or not, so will try the freebie version first.

You need to go into settings on your phone and pair the BT dongle first.

Thanks guys can't believe I didn't think about pairing it first lol. So my phones by picks it up but I tried everything for the connect code but nothing works. Any ideas? I've tried 1234 0000 1111 5678 6789 7890 .. the reviews on amazon where I got it people said to use 1234 and many people complained that there was no pair code given to them as well
