need help with engine problem...

I am driving home from work today, shifted into 4th in a long straight away near my house and suddenly there is this major vibration. I then realize that my engine is running really rough. Fortunately I am only a half mile from home so I just drive on in.

Service engine light came on but there were no other obvious problems, other than the engine sounding and feeling totally wrong. I turn it off and start it back up--same issue. I attach the BMWhat app and read the codes:

Under Motor Control
Code 0029CF Misfire detection, cylinder 3 in 2 firing order/failure detection cyl 5/ misfire detection cylinder3 in 2. Zuendreihenfolge

Under ABS/DSC/Brake

Code 005DE3 Wheel speed sensor output status / Internal ECU operating error DCS / Internal Error / Incorrect coding / DSC intern

Code 005DEC unknown failure / Transfer case / Clutch shut down temporarily / distributor gear fault / Shorted left rear wheel speed sensors and / Transmission ECU failure

Fortunately I am still under CPO warranty but the dealership is closed so this will have to wait until Friday. Anyone have any idea what could be going on?

2009 328i 6mt with about 82k miles. No previous problems or codes.

thanks....

When I read that you had a misfire I thought coils, but not sure if that would cause the wheel sensor error, unless that could have been caused by the misfire...??

With such a range of codes, perhaps battery is going out?

Garage List
Let CPO sort it out! Sounds more like separate issues.

Just saw this thread again and realized I never updated it. I have sold this car now and gave the new owner all of the repair records but I am 90% certain this turned out to be a wheel speed sensor error that caused all of this.

I kept this car until 2020 and except for oil leaks it was very reliable.
