Mhd and dealer visit

Hello all
I have appointment at dealer today for a recall work (blower motor wiring that can cause fire)

I just remembered I have my mhd s1 active- when they plug in the key fob can they see anhyrjjng that might cause issue with completing recall work?

Should I set it back to stock ? It's out of warranty so the warranty is not the concern -

Dealer employee here.

They will not be able to see any software from the key read data. The only way they can over write MHD would be if they did a software update, which I highly doubt they would do out of random for a recall job unless specifically asked for. You are totally fine to leave MHD on there.

The dealer updated my car when the FRM3 was replaced under extended warranty, I still had MHD 2+ installed. The airbag and blower motor were also done while there. They didn't say anything to me, and I just needed to reflash MHD. Maybe I just have a cool dealer though.

I left mine in. They didn't care. Mine did get overwritten due to an issue that they caused to my JBE during the recall that required a full reflash of all modules in the car, but that was a very rare case.

Had the blower motor wiring recall done and they did not touch anything else. Had MHD as well. I think on these recalls they only do the minimum they need to.

You're fine, Blow motor and airbag recalls are too common for us. As they mentioned tell them you don't need a software update and your good

As long as your DME had the latest update when you installed MHD, then you're good. MHD does nothing with the software number, which is what the dealer's system looks at.
