N52 Moderately Modded, Exhaust Video

Finally got around to dialing in a bunch of stuff on my E90 328i. I got the exhaust how I wanted with the P.E. paired with the afe catless mids and a vibrant resonator. The sound is intoxicating and the car feels more alive, but still not as quick as I'd like it to be, which is why I will be doing the 3IM mod + tune very soon. Anyways here's a short 3 min video I made over the past week highlighting the exhaust set-up, enjoy!

Thought I was looking at my own car on the Youtube thumbnail

3SIM, MILVs, Headers. Do it and it will completely awaken the car!

Definitely in the pipeline! How loud is the car with the headers? Any drone or excessive rasp? And how do you like the MILVs mod?

My original setup was: Magnaflow muffler and a resonator delete. Stock secondary cats. It had a bit of drone but sounded very mellow and I enjoyed it for about a year. After the headers, it was unbearably loud but holy crap the car just SANG all the way to redline unlike any N52 I have heard. Fantastic sound, little bit of rasp, but too much drone and volume for daily driving. Morning commutes became headache inducing...

I put a Vibrant resonator in and it helped with the drone a little, not nearly enough though. Gave up and now I have a stock muffler and resonator setup. The AFE intake gives me the growl when I'm WOT and I prefer it this way. Maybe one day I'll try the "PE mod" to the stock muffler and see if it gives me that little extra volume I want over stock.

This sounds really great! It has the refined sound, like it sounds “quality European” rather than the rattled raspy sound most guys around here get when they do with muffler/resonator delete. In the drive by it doesn’t sound over the top loud. You also get some nice burbles there, great set up I can see (hear lol) why you like it so much.

Sounds great.

Ah, too bad you don't have MT. You Auto guys are missing out. My favorite "pop" is the one that happens right as I up-shift. It's like "vrooooooomm!! crackle POW vrrooooommm" lol. And I love that I don't have to drive like a crazy man for it to happen.. 3.5-4k is enough.

You don't realize how bad I wanted a MT, they are damn near impossible to find in my area. Maybe I'll look for a MT when I eventually go for the N55.

hehe no worries.. they're definitely rare these days. I lucked out for sure. Happy motoring

It's funny because I think I'd prefer the DCT on an N55 or new M car.. pretty much anything turbo. Those DCT turbo shifts are siiick.

Great video. Nice job doing different pills in different locations and getting a well rounded impression.

Thanks for doing a video that gives a much better idea of the actual sound instead of the typical revving in a parking garage most people do, haha.

Sounds great and the car looks super clean.

Appreciate it guys! I'll try to make more of this content when I do the 3IM + tune.

^Nice. I'm using a VideoMic Me (whatever the one is that plugs directly into a cell phone). Seems decent so far but it's a little finicky.

So it's the Vibrant 1792 Bottle Style Resonator and it's on the y pipe, towards the end where it meets the muffler. Here's a photo, not the best but it gives you an idea of where it the resonator sits. Mind you I bought this exhaust from a forum member used so it was already on the P.E. when I received it.
