BMW recommends premium. I put Mobil or Sunoco 93 in mine exclusively.
It will detune itself to run on regular though. Wouldn't recommend it, but doing so really won't hurt anything. If you can afford a BMW, you shouldn't be bothered by the small difference in regular-to-premium cost.

Shell 93, Sunoco 93... and the rare chance neither are available, Mobil 93 or BP 93...

All gas in the U.S. has up to 10% ethanol. If BMW is unable to design an engine that can handle ethanol, they shouldn't offer it in the US.

To be honest is makes little difference in the 325, but there is a 10% mileage difference in our 1.8T Passat. At some point I would hope that Americans realize that effecient, high performance and environmental friendly engines are not going to run on third world fuel. |
