Price is lowered to $350 ($150 off retail)

Hi,

Well its that time of year again when I decide to upgrade my radar detector. Currently I have 2 9500ix a 8500X50 a Escort ZR4 laser shifters and a recently purchase 8500ci Plus. It is the 9500ci but without the laser shifters because I already have them. I am taking my car in on Saturday after Cleveland Cars and Coffee in order to get the 8500ci Plus installed.

So the 9500ix is ready for sale. This is Escorts best windshield mounted detector. It has GPS to lock out false alerts and also to provide you with red light cameras and speed cameras (which Cleveland has a lot of). You can go on Escorts website and read all about it. I am getting rid of this detector now because I really dont want one just sitting there.

This detector retails for $500. I am selling it for $400$375. I am negotiable.

If you have any questions just PM me.

I would like to have someone pick it up at Cleveland Cars and Coffee on Saturday.

Thanks

Also I have the original box and papers along with a charger and the suction cups. If someone wants pictures of that let me know.

I hate to ask, but how does this compare to the V1?
I am looking for one, but I am wanting to get a concealed hardwire display.
Does this read laser too?

Yeah the 9500ix does everything. Most people say that the 9500ix is much better than the V1 because the 9500ix has a GPS built in to it. It reads laser but does not diffuse laser. Diffusing will actually give the cop a 0 reading on the gun. This will detect laser though. I personally have ZR4 laser diffusers because a lot of cops around here use laser on the freeways. I highly recommend to get the 9500ix. I know people that have both the V1 and the 9500ix and they say that the arrows dont help as much. Most of the time your radar and laser alerts are coming from the front.

If you are interested let me know.

As far as the concealed display goes Escort Makes a hardwire cord that shows you the status of the detector.

the 8500 ci and the 9500 ci are NOT the same thing. The 9500 ci radar reciever is twin antenna design which is much more sensitive and is also undetectable by radar detector-detectors (Spectre) useful for people living in Virginia since they are illegal there.

Also, IMO, the only advantage the 9500ix has over the V1 is the GPS which locks out falses, something my wife likes. The V1 does better in testing than the 9500ix and has arrows to show the direction radar is coming from, invaluable IMO.

I did a lot of research on both and in the end, I decided to purchase the 9500ix instead of the V1. Plus, Turner Motorsports in Amesbury, MA was and possibly are still selling them for $399 shipped (with promo code: DRIVESMART)

Here is one of the reviews I read:

"...The modest first effort compared only the Escort 9500ix and Valentine One. Three assistants and two cars circled an 87.4-mile-long urban loop four times, mapping the radar sources and false alarms. The final score was V1: 51 false alarms, Escort Passport 9500ix: 0.

Then we took both on a 1,470-mile freeway blast, Phoenix to Little Rock, Arkansas. Each accurately reported all of the 21 police radars and two lasers encountered en route. The Valentine One also barked 111 false alarms, the Escort 9500ix only nine..."

I like the arrows on the V1, but in the end the GPS was more valuable for storing false alarms and in the end...as soon as I hear the alarm go off, I'm slowing down anyways whether or not its coming from the front, rear or sides.

btw. whether or not it reads laser should not be as important imo...because if it reads it then you are already caught.

Don't get me wrong, the 9500ix is a great detector it just doesn't have the raw sensitivity that I prefer. Plus its also been known to lock out real threats... but that's a debate for a whole other forum.

Ok thanks. I should have said basically the same. I saved $1000.

I just dropped the price to $350. Make me an offer if you don't think that is fair. I really want to get it sold.

How's 8500ci so far? Is it better than the 9500ix / SR4 combo?

It's awesome. It is so nice not having to take the 9500ix down from the windshield all of the time.
