Wheels for durability?

2006 330xi, stock 17" BMW wheels, Continental Contis. I have bent two wheels previously (replaced with rebuilt wheels) and gone through 1 set of Bridgestones due to potholes and the nature of run-flat tires.

Any recommendations on a wheel/tire setup that will provide maximum durability without having to go to steel wheels and hubcaps? And am I the only one bending wheels out there?

The stock are pretty strong as is.

You can try some low-pressure cast wheels like Alufelgen, Avant garde, etc or some forged wheels like ADV.1, HRE, Volk, etc.

Use a non rft tire. I have hit mammoth potholes with ps2's on my 19" m6 reps (notoriously weak!!) and the same ones have caused multiple bends on my brother's m sport 135i rims with bridgestone rft tires.

+1 on changing from RFT to non-RFT. this will reduce the impact force transfered from the tires to the wheels. only issue is you'll risk not having a spare, but if you're tires are in good condition, an impact hard enough to pop your tires will most likely taco your rim too. For a slow leak without RFTs, you can get the BMW M3 or Conti mobility kit.
