Performance Stripes Retrofit

Ok, I understand stripes are not everybody's cup of tea.

I get it, but ever since I saw the photos in this thread
http://forum.e46fanatics.com/showthread.php?t=707855 I decided to try those stripes out on my e91.

I really like the shape of the e91, especially now that I've deleted the roof rails and added the BMW Performance aerodynamics kit but from certain angles, and especially on the pre-LCI, I'm reminded of Chris Bangle and his penchant for "flame surfacing" his designs. I'm hoping to add a little more "crispness" with the way the stripe draws the eye to the shoulder line, accentuates the length of the car and the bulge of the front fender flares.

But that's me. Anyhow, I looked everywhere I could think of and couldn't find very much detailed information or installation instructions.

Just thought I'd share the instruction manual I received from my BMW dealer with anyone who might be interested.

The manual is entitled:

Performance Strips Retrofit
BMW 1 Series (E81/E82/E87/E88)
BMW 3 Series (E90/E91N/E92/E93)

I really like the stripes! The fact that they're oem is appealing to me, and they are designed to work with the lines of the car. Look great on AW too and might make an appearance on my e90!

ive considered stripes for a long time. but the one i have been eye balling is the Berlin race strip set up. very similar to the scene from mr. and mrs smith. but like this for my red e92. covers hood roof and trunk in black or CF

Yes, they are OEM. I paid the equivalent of about US$135.00 for the stripes, not including installation. I'll do the install myself as soon as things warm up around here.
Pricey, but as you mentioned, they're OEM.

If you're interested you can find the part number for your car on RealOEM "vehicle trim" section down at the bottom of the page if you select "Switch to Images Drill Down". Part numbers start with 5114........

Awesome thanks so much for the info. I'm usually not a fan of stripes at all but these stripes are subtle and go well with the lines of the car. Seriously considering them

I'm glad you like them.

Thanks for the feedback. I'll post pictures after the install.
