R3 vs R4 LED Headlights - Worth the Upgrade?

I was about to pull the trigger on a set of direct R3 6000K replacements when I stumbled upon an announcement that R4 LEDs are available in the same configuration. I googled and couldn't find much out there on the R4 configuration in headlights. Even CREE's website didn't mention much about automotive applications. So have you guys tried R4's? Interested in any advice you may have!
