Question Light refraction through rear window

Is it just me, or is tinting on the rear window of a E90 is not a good idea?

Driving at night, I get excessive refracting of light from following cars along the rear window demisting element. I ended up not being able to judge how far and fast are the cars behind. This is probably made worse by the anti-glare function of the rear vision mirror. I never felt relaxed driving at night because of the whole thing.

There were some bubbling along the length of the demisting elements - one has to inspect closely to see them, like a few inches away. Not that unnoticeable, but not that noticeable either, know what I mean? I showed it to my car dealer who kindly got the tinting on the rear window replaced for me free of charge a couple of months ago. Now there are still some bubbling. And the challenge of driving at night. Does anyone have this problem or is it just me and my car?

I can't say that I've noticed any refraction from cars traveling behind me nor being able to judge how fast or close they are. Having said that, alternating between the rear view and external mirrors views to judge surrounding traffic can be a bit un-nerving untill you get used to the side mirrors.

I'd be concerned if the window tint is bubbling. It shouldn't do these days as the quallity is quite good. The lines of the dimister are raised on the glass so i'd be carfull if they need to replace it again but if they need to, the sooner the better.

Have you tried adjusting the height of your seat?

Adjusting the seat height didn't work.

I am now thinking it's either the decency of the work, or the demister line was already damaged. Anyway, I am hoping neither is the case!
