the three main sections to look for is next to the oil pan, there is a bolt that is close, but it clears with proper install, also between the two dps on the exhaust flange, usually even if they are touching they dont produce any noise, and 3rd is the stock dp hanger bracket, 3" dps dont use it and it needs to be moved or the new dp's will hit it all the time.

Yeah. Clearances on these things is TIGHT. As long as there is no noise or rubbing, you should be A-OK! BTW, sorry I missed your call, was buried in the shop behind a welding helmet. Do you still need a call back?

No worries. Ill call you tomorrow. Just making sure it was ok that clearance was ok. My tech said it was the best he could do. I will Post up a sound clip tomorrow. Im hearing no more rattle but a slight vibration at idle that comes and goes. Plus Im hearing the turbos spool so much more comapred to my UR which is nice. Thanks Andrew. My car sounds kinda like this now.

the other store took a look the underneath of car and said the only solution is to heat up pipe and modify areas where close to body frame( causes noise). i wonder if it will cause different pressure between two pipes. they said it wont because only a little modification. is this common? why does this ar down pipe need to be modified in order to fit my car?

Is this grinding noise you speak of happening also when you turn your wheel and rev the engine in park or does it happen only in D mode? I installed mine and its really tight at some points I see only like 1/4 to 1/8 clearance between the two dps...It has to be precise, and if its not it would definitely make some kind of rattle....I have yet to take out my car from my initial install because my garage is plowed in by snow...I haven't heard any rattles so far from revving the engine to about 3500 rpms in neutral...

Has AR Design made a install document for these pipes yet? Seems like a lot of these problems can be solved with one (ie use extra caution in this part as this will happen...)
Something a guy can print and take to the shop doing the install. |
